With thousands of spectators lining Talbot Street – shoulder-to-shoulder – on Saturday evening, it was evident area residents were ready to get into the Christmas spirit by enjoying the much-anticipated annual Essex Centre BIA Santa Claus Parade.
The around one-hour-long spectacle made its way through Essex Centre against the dark night backdrop, offering plenty of holiday-themed music, breathtaking lights, and eye-catching floats to wow even any grinchy individuals who may have been in attendance.
The Windsor Parade Corporation hosted its final parade of the season with the Essex Centre BIA Santa Claus Parade. With its several marching bands, floats featuring local businesses, fire stunts, characters dressed in fun and festive costumes, and eye-catching holiday-themed entries, including a special appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus, it is sure to be remembered for some time.
Before the parade officially kicked-off, area youths were able to enjoy an exciting time in the all-new Fan Zone, which was set-up next to Blimeys British Store and Gift Shop.
Free activities included an array of fun entertainment. In addition, young attendees were able to enjoy creating a craft, and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, to help them get excited for the parade later that night.
Funding was made possible with Government of Canada, Government of Ontario, Ontario Culture Attractions Fund and a host of local sponsors, including Fahrhall and Five Star Image, in addition to the presenting sponsor, The Essex Centre BIA, which is always looking for ways to promote area businesses and bring residents and shoppers to the downtown area.
