Lakeshore welcomes the Stanley Cup

by Sylene Argent

Stoney Point resident Steve Ott recently won the Stanley Cup as as Assistant Coach with the St. Louis Blues.

Ott brought hockey’s most coveted trophy to the Rock Development Rink at the Atlas Tube Centre on Sunday afternoon, giving fans a chance to pose for a picture with the Stanley Cup and Ott, too.

The Belle River District Minor Hockey teams and Lakeshore Lightning Hockey teams also had the opportunity to have their photos taken with the Stanley Cup earlier that day.

The turnout to the event was so great, that some fans were not able to get in on the photo op due to time constraints, but were able to view the trophy from the grandstands.

Those who attended the event were asked to donate a non-perishable food item for the Community Support Centre of Essex County and Community Food Pantry.
